A Warm Welcome

As we begin this new season together, I’m grateful for a quiet corner where we can pause, breathe, and notice the ways God meets us in our everyday lives. This space will hold short reflections, weekly letters, and moments of encouragement — nothing fancy, just the steady grace that carries us through each day. I’m glad you’re here, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Dear Friends in Christ,

This week I’ve been thinking about one simple truth: the smallest gift can change a life. Jesus showed this in quiet moments where ordinary people offered what little they had — and God made it enough.

I think of the widow who slipped two small coins into the temple treasury. Jesus saw her, though no one else did. He said she had given more than all the others, not because her gift was large, but because her heart was. She trusted God with the little she had, and in that trust, her gift became great.

I think of the widow with her two coins. No one noticed her, but Jesus did. He said her gift was greater because she gave from the heart. And I think of the boy with five loaves and two fish — hardly enough for a meal — yet Jesus multiplied it until thousands were fed. A simple offering became abundance.

And I think of Jesus’ own words: “Give, and it will be given to you. The measure you use will be the measure you receive.” He wasn’t talking about money alone. He was talking about kindness, compassion, time, patience, and mercy. Every act of giving shapes the heart of the giver, and opens a door for God to work.

I see this in our community all the time: a can of food, a ride to town, a prayer, a moment of listening. These are not small things. In Christ’s hands, they become blessing. These are not small things. In the hands of Christ, they become abundance.

My encouragement to you this week is simple: give what you can, where you can, with the heart you have. God has a way of taking our smallest offerings and turning them into blessings we never expected.

May we continue to be a people who give freely, gently, and generously — trusting that God sees every act, multiplies every kindness, and uses every gift for His glory.

Yours in God’s love,

 A SEASON OF RENEWAL

Every now and then, God gives us a small, tangible reminder that renewal is always happening around us. Today, our food pantry’s old sign came down, and Karen began preparing the way for the new one. It’s a simple thing — a sign — but it marks a fresh chapter for a ministry that has quietly fed and encouraged our community for years.

Watching that change begin made me think about the ways God invites us into new seasons. Sometimes they arrive with fanfare, and sometimes they begin with something as humble as a sign being replaced. Yet the message is the same: God is still at work. God is still shaping us. God is still calling us forward.

As we move into this next stretch of the year, may we notice the small signs of renewal in our own lives — the gentle beginnings, the quiet shifts, the places where God is preparing us for what comes next.
